Confectionery  Nuts

We oven roast the nuts to bring out the flavor of each type. Then we use the traditional process of blending a specific sugar mixture with the nuts in copper pots, for best results.We take pride in using pure vanilla, quality brand name ingredients, zero preservatives, and adding an FDA compliant food grade oxygen absorber to each BPA-free food grade bag which preserves freshness, extends the shelf life and prevents mold and bacteria growth.  We choose to do this to keep the integrity of high-quality tasting nuts: our #1 goal!

The story of our business begins with Mark's Sweet Walnutz many Christmas's ago.We entertained a lot and I would make dozens of various cookies but he wanted to add something our guests could easily snack on & be a bit healthier than buttery cookies. Our guests were so delighted in their "deliciousness" that they would soon ask for them to be made every year. Mark never seemed to make enough. So we began making several batches and giving each guest either a half 1lb or 1lb of his "Sweet Nutz", as everyone nicknamed them. 

With much encouragement, support, love, and business from our loved ones, we began selling them. Soon we expanded our menu: Angie's Almonds and Pleasantly Sweetened Pecans. To our surprise, they were being requested just as much as the Mark's Walnutz. So a light bulb went off and I decided we needed to expand for other palettes, such as mine that love that extra sweetness. We added the Praline Pecans, & to our delight, also became a hit. Then came the Classy Candied Cashews, which was risky based on the price of cashews, but once again, our customers liked them, crave them, and still continue to order them. They are not as sweet and a with a hint of nutmeg, truly give a warm wintery holiday taste to them.

 

Most of our nuts are vegan friendly (they will be in black bags) and we take pride in being able to offer them with our non-vegan products.

You will soon find our vegan nut products on the shelves at Chicago's Vegan store, bar & restaurant called PlantX and XMarket Food Hall!! We are so humbled to have been requested to be a part of their vegan products and share our nuts with their guests who could be from all over the world. It's a very exciting time for us, and we promise to put our highest quality into each batch, for everyone that purchases from us, as we have since the first batch that was made decades ago.

As of  September 2024 we have added Spicy Chipotle Almonds, Ranch Cashews, & Cocoa Dusted & Sea Salt Almonds. They are not sweetened but they add a lil more flavor options for those who do not like sweetened nuts. So far, they have been a nice addition to our list of options.

We sift each batch of nuts to eliminate the crumbs & the tiniest of nuts that are left after they are made. This allow you more ounces of actual nut per bag. This sifting is an additional step that we take, which we feel puts our product a step above what is out there already.

This is our packaging and what you would be receiving when you order. Shown above are our 3 ounce, 6 ounce, 9 ounce, & 12 ounce bags some with Angie's Sweet Almonds and  the others with Mark's Sweet Walnutz. We chose these BPA-free, food grade, zip seal, heat sealable bags & resealable bag to ensure our product stays as fresh as possible once you receive them. We also include an oxygen absorber in each bag to eliminate mold and bacteria growth. So we have put a lot of thought into how to get our nuts to you and taste as fresh as the day we made them. Although, personally, Angie feels they taste better the next day, not matter how they are stored.

  1. One WEEK at room temperature

  2. Two MONTHS in freezer

  3. Three WEEKS in refrigerator

If you follow these guidelines, we assure you that you will be able to enjoy your package of nuts all that much longer.
We do not use any preservatives, only every other way, with the food grade & smell poof bag, zip & heat sealing & oxygen absorbers to keep our confectionery nuts delicious for you!
